Joan Kleinberg

Joan Kleinberg is a member of the management team, with primary responsibility for developing NJP’s capacity to use data in systemic advocacy. Joan also facilitates the use of pro bono resources to support advocacy efforts. She worked at Evergreen Legal Services as a staff attorney in Yakima and Seattle from 1977 to 1981 and as a private attorney involvement specialist from 1982 to 1995. In 1995, she became one of three founders of the Northwest Justice Project, where she developed the CLEAR hotline. CLEAR was the first statewide legal aid hotline for low-income persons; Joan is known nationally for her expertise in telephonic legal services delivery models.
